5 Tips for The Makeup Beginner

From foundation to blushers and lipsticks to go, there are so many different brands and colors available in the market. And if you are new to makeup, it can be real pain to figure out where to start and what to buy. So if your'e getting ready to step into the makeup game, we have 5 Tips for the Makeup Beginner, that will help you through this glitzy journey.

5 Tips for The Makeup Beginner

Tip #1. Know your skin type

Before you start anything whether it's makeup or skincare, make sure you understand your skin type. The general skin type categories are Normal, Oily, Sensitive, Dry and Combination (it can be a combination of any but the common ones are normal and oily T-zone). So make sure you consult a beautician to find out your skin types before getting any makeup. Once you have determined your skin type, choosing the right makeup will be much easier.

Tip #2. Skip the foundation and get Tinted Moisturizer

My advice is if you are new to makeup, start your skin off with tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. This is because tinted moisturizer is not as heavy on your skin and it comes with moisturizing properties, keeping your skin hydrated.

Suggestion : CAUDALIE RADIANCE TINTED MOISTURIZER SPF20 | NARS TINTED MOISTURIZER | LAURA MERCIER TINTED MOISURIZER SPF 20

Tip #3. Lipstick is a MUST

Getting your first lipstick is always the hardest because not only that it comes with a wide selection of colors but also all sorts of different finishing. A good rule of thumb is to get a Red lipstick, whether it's sheer or sheen, it doesn't matter as long as it's not glossy and tacky. Because you can always do a light pad for a sheer finishing or layer it up for a opaque red lip look. Also it can be used as a blusher on your cheek too. So stick to something matte would be good.

Suggestion : ETUDE HOUSE DEAR MY GLASS TINTING LIPS TALK | MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATION LIP COLOR | REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK

Tip #4. Get a Professional Brow Wax/Trim/Thread

Don't ever trim your own brow ! Make an appointment at your nearby beauty salon and get it wax or trimmed. Trust me, it will make a huge difference in how you look.

Tip #5. Skip the Hassle

Skip the hassle of researching where to get the products that I have mentioned and whether it's available in Malaysia, you can always check out ProductNation. They carry basically all the Best makeup in Malaysia so you don't have to go through the hassle of 'googling'. ;)
