McDonald's Storytelling Contest 2017

Following on from the success of last year, McDonald's Storytelling Contest 2017 is back with more fun and cheer as children and parents alike enjoy this creative campaign. Children from all over Malaysia participated in the contest by uploading a 60 second video of themselves telling their favourite story on Instagram.

Participants with the most vivid and engaging video were then selected to attend a live audition, held at various McDonald’s outlets across the country, with the hope of qualifying for the Grand Finals in Kuala Lumpur this coming November.

I had a chance to catch some amazing kids in action as a judge at McDonald's Seremban 2, where these young masters of words put up an interesting storytelling session that incorporated stories, props and actions that made the whole experience delightfully fun and entertaining.

My favourite would be the rendition of the hunter and the bear which brought back warm memories. We also had Ronald McDonald dropping by to entertain us during the event.

Our selected finalist will stand a chance of winning some great prizes worth up to RM 100,000 with the Grand prize being a trip for 4 to Disneyland and DisneySea Tokyo, followed by a 1st prize trip for 4 to Disneyland Hong Kong & Ocean park, 2nd prize  trip for 4 to Shanghai Disney Resort, 3rd prize trip for 4 to Thailand Cartoon Network Amazone water park and finally 11 consolation prizes worth RM 2000 each. Now that’s what I call “fantastic”!

It’s amazing how talented these kids are, some even at 6 years old presented their stories well and clearly with so much enthusiasm that I believe the McDonald's Storytelling Contest is an event that nurtures children to love reading and being more expressive in communicating their thoughts. So, stay tuned to McDonald’s page (here) to follow their journey in crowning the winner of McDonald's Storytelling Contest 2017!

love ♥,
