Sunday Brunch @ The Library, The Ritz Carlton KL

Brunch has always been a lazy afternoon thing at a funky cafe on chill days for me, but when a girl needs something more classy on the weekends, Sunday Brunch at The Library, The Ritz Carlton KL, comes to mind and you simply can't help but fall in love with the place. Continue reading to find out why...

Sunday Roast Brunch @ The Library, The Ritz Carlton Hotel KL (feature)

Inside The Library, it's a rather lavish affair set on a backdrop of dark woods with ambient lighting and plush couches which will certainly help ease you through the luxury champagne brunch, they also have a live jazz band to set the mood.

Sunday Roast Brunch here is priced at RM 198 (including coffee & tea), but upgrading to a package price of RM 398, gives you the luxurious of free flowing champagne, wine and beer.

The first thing you will notice once you step into The Library is the long self-serve buffet table, but before that you'll be greeted by the waitress, explaining on the made-to-order main courses and soups available for the day. The main courses and soups available varies weekly.

Once you're all settled in with free-flowing champagne and selected the mains of the day, a sumptuous buffet spread awaits you with signature roasts on trolleys for you to savor, it's full of everything from fresh Australian Blue Mussels, Lobster Tail, Prawns on ice, smoked salmon, smoked duck, chicken lyoner, beef pastrami, lavosh, Baba Ganoush, Shallots in Red Wine Vinegar, Air-Dried Beef with Melon, cheese, delicious New Jersey Oyster, Gallagher Oyster, Fine de Claire Oyster and many more. Trust me, with so many tempting options to choose from, you would certainly get a bit carried away.

New Jersey Oyster, Gallagher Oyster & Fine de Claire Oyster

Prawns, Australian Blue Mussels & Lobster Tail

You can have the fresh seafood on ice by itself but for me, I personally like to pair them up with some of the condiments available because it really opens up my adventurous tastebuds, giving an extra bump of flavour to the fresh seafood.

Salmon in two ways : Smoked Salmon & Salmon Gravlax.

Tuna Nicoise Salad

Tuna Salad with freshly cut slices of which I'll obviously be returning for. The slices of tuna are thick and juicy, just the way I like it.

Other than the usual salad dressing, the salad counter also includes some unique flovours such as Italian, sour cream, olive oil, vinaigrette, balsamic and more..

Smoked Duck

Prawn Tower

Chicken Pate with Cranberry Sauce

Lavosh

Fresh Berries

There's also a dedicated area in the buffet spread serving all the classic Japanese sushi like Tamago Inigri, Tuna Inigri, Salmon Inigri, Salmon Sashimi and some all-time favourites maki rolls too.

Cheese Platter

Air-Dried Beef with Melon

Another of my favourite from the Sunday Roast Brunch is the Air-Dried Beef with Melon. This is definitely a must-try at your next visit to The Ritz Carlton KL. The thin slices of meat was perfectly aged and seasoned, jam packed with flavours paired with some different of melons balls on the side. If they only had some plain Chinese pau there to pair with the slices of beef, then this would be better than perfect !

How can we miss out The Ritz Carlton's signature lamb and beef roast trolleys. Again everything was seasoned and flavoured throughout , even the vegetables on the side were faultless. All you need is a choice of sauces to complete the dish. Also the portion of the lamb and beef roast are quite manly as in large, so my advise is to share it with your partner before getting another slice.

French Macaroons

Mixed Fruit Tartlet

Chocolate Lollipop

After filling up with all the appetizers, salads and mains, here comes the desserts. where everything gets a lot more fun. More than 20 types of desserts are displayed on the main buffet area and each is deliciously  crafted. The gorgeously made pavlova with dallops of cream and berries, was a dream. Also the classic Carrot Cake was divine, while the Chocolate Lollipop really hit that sweet spot and along with those colorful and flavourful macaroons, it was a real highlight for me, having that medium to hard shell on the outside and soft chewy centre.

So what did I think of the Sunday Roast Brunch at The Library, The Ritz Carlton Hotel KL ? I have to say it's one of the more decadent brunches you'll find in KL. They serve an amazing spread of appetizers, salads, fresh seafood selection and the kitchen also put together some incredible desserts which tasted as pretty as it looked. With live music played throughout the brunch and cozy interior set up at The Library, You can't ask for more. The only thing I would change is to have the weekly main courses and drinks selection to be displayed in a menu form so diners can browse through the menu slowly before deciding on their choices. But other than that, all in all, the Sunday Roast Brunch is a fancy experience to be tried at least once.
