So today, I thought I'd give you the grand tour of my new Sleek Makeup i-Divine Palette (A New Day). A shade-by-shade account, the shimmers, the mattes and the one's I love.
Sleek Makeup i-Divine Palette : A New Day
A Shade by Shade Account (review)
A New Day i-Divine Palette boasts everything you need for flawless daytime eyes. Think laidback weekends and everyday office chic. Features an array of back-to-basic soft nudes, subtle golds and warm peach shades.
You'll LIKE it if you are into those nudes NAKED-kind of shades for your eye makeup. This is also a cheaper alternative to those high-end makeup eyeshadow palettes like NAKED, Tarte, Zoeva and etc..
You'll HATE it if you want to experiment with colourful eyemakeup.
Now for a shade breakdown :
Sun Is Shining : A pale yellow shimmer. I have to admit the pale yellow color just doesn't flatter my eyes or skin tone at all. When I pack this on to my eyelid, it makes me look dark and dirty, just not the eye makeup that I would go out with.
Brightside : Pale neutral pink rose gold shimmer. This is one of my favourites from the palette. The pink rose gold shimmer shade is so creamy and when I sweep it over my lid, giving that extra definition to my eyes.
Daydreamer : Dusty beige matte. By far, this is the least pigmented shade among all. I reckon you can just skip this color and move on to the next.
Let It Go : The matte version of Brightside, rose gold matte. Another colour that I like. The texture of this matte is like butter, and I say this will work great as a base or blending for your eye makeup.
Don't Worry : Metallic copper shimmer. Don't Worry is s serious no joke packed pigment and leaves behind a rusty copper effect when swatched. I enjoy using this to enhance my rose gold eye makeup.
Be Happy : Light pinky-peach matte. Here you go, another there but barely there kind of shade. I do not see myself getting quite a lot of use out of this as eyeshadow but it makes a great powder to set the under eye.
Feelin' Good : Pinky white matte. Again a colour that doesn't flatter my skin tone at all. I say this is the "I'm not sure when to use" kind of shade, especially when you have darker skin tone.
Silver Lining : Metallic taupe shimmer. What is not to love with this metallic taupe shade. It gives off something different to my eyes and plus it's so creamy and easily blendable.
Shine On : Classic gold shimmer. A classic gold color with shimmer. I reckon I'll be using this for a Cleopatra makeup look for this coming Halloween or any costume party.
Carpe Diem : Dusty pink-brown matte. A good crease warmer and looks fab for under eye smudge.
Believer : Beige shimmer. Slightly like "Feelin Good" but with hint of shimmer. So need not to say, not a fan of this shade.
H.A.P.P.Y : Deep brown matte. A deep deep brown that I bet this will be the go-to shades during the smokey eye times.
Overall, the Sleek Makeup i-Divine Palette A New Day is a fool-proof eyeshadow palette to dress your eyes for day to day or the "no make-up" day kind of makeup. I was quite impressed with the colour selection but as for the pigmentation, there's still room for improvement because the lighter shades take at least 3 swatches to show up whereas the shimmer and darker shades, it's highly pigmented. This is a great palette by itself but it's not the best colour selection from Sleek Makeup. I wouldn't wear it to go out at night because the colours are not vibrant enough. Other than that, the eyeshadows have some little fall out when I apply it on my eyelid but it's still manageable kind of fall out. The only thing that I personally find annoying is the packaging. The matte plastic like packaging certainly will not survive any drops because the mirror part of the eyeshadow palette came off right away when in my makeup bag (in a box that comes with it) slipped off my hand.
Anyway for the price of RM 69 (€10.49), I think this is certainly worth the money and contains powders that could rival the best sellers in the market.
