My lips are always chapped and dry, and it can be such a pain when you are trying to apply those super matte, drying and bold lipstick formuls because it will make your lips look even worst, literally like paint peeling off a wall. So I decided to go for a few weeks of lipstick detox and wear only balm to give my lips all the moisture that it has been yearning for. So I decided to try the new Shu Uemura Tint in Balm (05 Nude Therapy) religiously for a few weeks and hoped to say goodbye to prune-like lips, But it didn't go the way it was supposed to! Let's find out...
Shu Uemura Tint In Balm (05 Nude Therapy)
goodbye prune-like lips (review)
Shu Uemura new tint in balm is their first silky balm to offer high color pay-off with an incredibly lightweight and high concentration of natural moisturizing ingredients that melt onto lips with creamy texture. It also claims to give wearer the vivid lip color and stand-out, high shine finish that lasts all day.
You'll LIKE it if you are looking for lip balm with vivid color payoff and digging the sleek and classy packaging.
You'll HATE it if you have chapped and dry lips and want to us a lip balm, and also hate the fact it's not retractable.
The first thing I notice about this tint in balm is the not retractable option. Usually I would stay away from it but since it's Shu Uemura first lip product to offer high color payoff so I bought it. Well, I have to say the color is comparatively vivid for a lip balm and the formula is indeed very lightweight and melt on my lips as it claimed, but the high concentration of natural moisturizing claim does not feel true. Have had this on throughout the day (reapply as needed), and my prune-like cracks are no where near to smooth. Also being lightweight and creamy, this Shu Uemura Tint in Balm rested into all my prune-like cracks and even accentuated it after applying the tint in balm, which is a quite a disappointment when you expect the lip balm to moisturize your lips but instead it highlighted how dry your lips are.
So goodbye prune-like lips ? I think it's more of Goodbye Shu Uemura Tint In Balm, time to collect some dust. An utter disappointment!
Overall, this new Shu Uemura Tint in Balm looks great in term of packaging and would be a pretty lip product addition to your vanity. However, if you are looking for some lip balm to rescue your dry lips, this is definitely not the right candidate for the job. There a so many different other lip balm that can do a better job and comes with a much cheaper, wallet-friendly pricing too, such as L'Oreal Paris Glam Shine Balmy Gloss, The Body Shop pot lip balm, Maybelline Baby Lips, Palmer's lip butter, Lip Ice Sheer Color lip balm and many more.. All of it is just quarter of the price you pay for Shu Uemura Tint In Balm.
