Paula's Choice in Malaysia Calm Anti-Redness Relief Dry Cleanser & Skin Perfecting 2% Bha gel Review

Some people stick to a certain skincare routine for years and years but I always like to change things up, trying new products as they say you never know if you don't go, So last month, I added some Paula's Choice skincare products into my skincare routine, which is the Paula's Choice Calm Redness Relief Cleanser and Paula's Choice Skin Perfectin 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant. Loving it or hate it ? Let's find out...

If you are not familiar with Paula's Choice skincare, they are actually one of the more popular skincare brands in the USA. Their skincare products are manufactured in the US and no animal testing were done with the products, that's a plus..:). It's non-irritating, that means no added fragrance, dyes or ingredients that can harm your skin.

Paula's Choice Calm Redness Relief Cleanser

This cleanser has been my morning and evening skincare choice. A white and very watery formula containing ingredients that calms redness and congestion-busting that I find it best to use during the evening after removing the makeup I had on the whole day, because it works all the way in to remove all the impurities on your skin, keeping it clean. Just one single pump of the Paula's Choice Calm Redness Relief Cleanser and it gets the job done in a pretty gentle way without any tingling or tight sensation after cleansing. You can either lather it up on your palm or incorporate it with a cleansing device, but you will notice that it doesn't lather up as much foam when you are using it with your palm as compared to a cleansing device. So it's totally up to you whether to use it with your palm or cleansing device. As for me, we prefer the idea of having more foam with the cleansing device. Smell wise ? It doesn't have the lovely floral or fruits fragrance to it, all it has is a very rather mild clinical smell and I'm fine with that as long as it gets the job done, leaving my skin soft and squeaky clean.

If you are having quite some redness going on in your complexion then this would be a good one to try to get your reddness off, and it works for sensitive skin gals too.

Paula's Choice Skin Perfectin 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant

After cleansing, we will move on to the exfoliant. Don't be surprise, this is not the typical exfoliant where you'll have to wash off after massaging it in. This Paula's Choice Skin Perfectin 2% BHA Gel is a leave-on exfoliant. My skin just loves this stuff being part of our evening skincare routine. It's thin and provides a lot of slip on the skin which makes it a good candidate to massage your face with. But the only downside that I noticed to have with this exfoliant is the fact that it gets rather sticky and tacky on the skin after massaging it in. It takes quite a while for it to settle and sink into the skin, but once it sinks in, you'll get the smooth and silky application. Perhaps that's why it's recommended to be used it in the evening? Well, I still can't decide whether it's staying in my bathroom shelf because I do like that it gives me a more radiant skin the next morning but the sticky and tacky feeling leaves a lot to be desired.

Both the Paula's Choice Cleanser and BHA Gel Exfoliant is rather pricey but based on the size of the bottle, I reckon it will take a fair few months to work our way through this. But do note, the cleanser could be quite addictive once you get started... ;)
