The AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search (AARRDS) 2016 this year goes on a regional search, five Asean countries including Phillippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. Young aspiring designers stand a chance to win prizes worth at least RM350,000 on top of showcasing their beautiful designs. AirAsia is Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear 2016's Preferred Travel Partner and will be flying in fashion desginers through out the AirAsia Group's extensive network.

As we know the competitive fashion industry constantly needs creative young talents that provides artistic vision in their designs. This is the second time which the designer search is being held to help discover aspiring talents in different regions. In the collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear (KLFW RTW) team, the search was succesfully launched by Ms. Aireen Omar, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Berhad together with Mr. Andrew Tan, Founder of KLFW RTW, in Kuala Lumpur.
This is a great platform for designers across Asean to step up their game and launch their career in fashion. Imagining their personal designs come to life on a the runway would no doubt be an accomplishment. AirAsia is proud to be part of every talents' journey through out this search.
Introducing this year's judges for the Malaysian Auditions, both Aireen Omar and Andrew Tan will be part of the panel, with Vivy Yusof, owner of renowed fashion e-commerce site FashionValet.com, Alia Bastaman, top fashion designer and Suzie Adnan, Editor-In-Chief of GLAM magazine joining in as well.
- Local or international students.
- 28 years of age or below.
- Currently studying or have graduated from fashion design schools in any of the five countries.
- Submit three (3) women's ready-to-wear sketches inspired by Asean countries.
- Complete the registration form available at klfashionweek.com and submit with the sketches.
- Submission deadline is by 12 April 2016.
Young potential designers will have the opportunity to present their visionary sketches to the panel of judges in each city. The Top 3 finalists will be selected from each country and have their collection featured down the runway at the KLFW RTW 2016 this August 2016. Sounds like a great possibility for young designers to fly out of their fashion cocoon.
