Vanity Trove & Avène Beauty Workshop

Avène - Specialist for sensitive skin."

Avène (pronounce as "A van"), a well-known and household beauty brand that has been around for more than 250 years. I have been seeing it constantly appearing around me, like having my peeps spraying the Thermal Spring Water Mist on their faces or brag about which Avène product they have at home. As for me, this is my very first encounter with Avène beauty products except for the Thermal Spring Water that I have and received from Vanity Trove earlier (here).

To be part of the Avène Beauty Workshop, is like an eye opener to me because my experience with Avène hermal Spring Water wasnt a pleasant one.

Name : Avene Beauty Workshop
Time : 10:30am - 1pm, 15 June 2013
Location : Cafe Barbera, Bangsar

Avène, from nature for the perfect care of sensitive skin all began in 1736, when a horse afflicted with severe skin rashes was cured after drinking and bathing in the Avène Thermal Spring Water. Since then it was successfully used in treatment of severe burns after the Great Fire of Chicago in 1871. After a subterranean journey lasting over 50 years, the water emerges at the spring, rich in soothing and softening properties. Its well-established properties, acknowledged by numerous dermatological studies, make Avène Thermal Spring Water the ideal care for sensitive skin.

Avène Thermal Spring Water

Avène's most well-liked product, the Avène Thermal Spring Water soothes relief for sensitive skin, as well as softening it. The Thermal Spring Water can be used for everyday skin care routine like after hair removal, to set make-up, after shaving, and diaper rash. It also targeted for Dermatological care like Eczema, Itching, after Surgery, Rashes, Sunburn, and after Dermatological Treatments. Just a spray of the fine mist, and leave it for 2 to 3 minutes before gently dabbing the skin.

Today not only I get to learn more about Avène`s products, I also was given the chance to have a full hands-on experience with it, from Cleansing all the way to Moistuirizing !

Step 1 : Make Up Removal

with Avène Micellar Lotion

The Avène Micellar Lotion Make Up Remover is a water based removal, catered for all skin type ranging from hypersensitive skin to very dry skin. It can also be used to remove eye make up too.

Step 2 : Cleansing

with Avène Gentle Gel Cleanser

If you were to ask me, I personally like the gluey texture of the Gentle Gel Cleanser, that is designed for normal to combination skin. It leaves my skin soft and supple after the wash.

Step 3  : Spring Water Mask

with Avène Thermal Spring Water and facial mask

Little did I know that with just a bottle of Avène Thermal Spring water and a plain facial mask, I can have my very own Avène Hydrotherapy at home ! Thats just easy peasy and relatively cheap as compared other facial mask pack in the market.

[Spray Avène Thermal Spring Water on face]

[Spray the facial mask with Avène Thermal Spring Water until its completely soaked]

[Place facial mask over the face]

[Leave it on for 15 minutes, spraying again if necessary]

[Do the same on a cotton pad for an Avène eye mask]

Step 4 : Toning

with Avène Gentle Toner

Avène beautician kindly assisting us in discovering which toner is suitable for us. The toner catered for oily skin can be applied for ones with extremely oily T-zone area, and the normal skin toner for the rest of the face area.

Step 5 : Moisturizing

with Avène Hydrance Optimale UV Light SPF 20

Step 6 : Sun Protection

with Avène Very High Protection Emulsion SPF 50+

The whole hands-on experience finished off with the Avène Sun Protection that is invisible, lightweight and with a matifying formula, making my skin glows without feeling greasy.

To my surprise, the end result of the hands-on was remarkable. Although I dont have any serious problem with my face, but the thing I like after the Avène skincare routine is that it gives me radiant, luminous skin complexion even without any make up nor foundation on. Well, here is a picture of me after the 6 steps of Avène skincare routine. #nomakeup
